Portfolio > Sun Kings

This is a new body of work that is still evolving and taking shape. The skeleton of this work stems from the meetings immediately following the First World War, which saw Western powers, namely France and Britain, deciding the borders of the modern Middle East. I am particularly interested in the meeting at Versailles - that palace of opulence and hubris which housed the signing of a treaty determining the destinies of entire Arab populations who had no voice or representation at the meeting. The peoples of the Middle East would go on to burn in the paths of cavalries, colonies and occupation. The Arabs never had a chance.
