Over the last few years, I have returned to painting as a means of expressing and indulging in the kind of imagery that often excites me most on a daily basis. The paintings of Bruegel, Bosch, Titian, Fra Angelico, Giotto, heavy metal album covers, and the fantasy worlds of early role playing games and sci-fi/fantasy book covers have all long played an outsized role in my visual vocabulary and imagination. Panel painting has provided me the opportunity to explore these lifelong loves, while offering me the chance to include far more personal content, and reflecting some particularly dark periods of my life that began in the summer of 2020.
